DAVID
DIRECTOR OF ISM TURRAMURRA
​
At the helm of ISM Turramurra is Director David, whose musical voyage commenced within its walls as a three-year-old bee-boppers student. David has since evolved into a distinguished artist with several chart-topping and award-winning tracks to his name. His extensive career spans over a decade, gracing stages both domestically and internationally.
Armed with a Master's in Business Administration, David applies his profound industry knowledge and educational insights to guide ISM Turramurra. His leadership is underscored by a passionate commitment to music education, aiming to inspire students to explore their musical talents and embark on enriching, lifelong musical journeys.

JOCELYN
OFFICE MANAGER / PIANO TEACHER
​
Jocelyn has a Licentiate Teacher’s Diploma in Pianoforte from the Trinity College London (LTCL) and is an accredited piano teacher of The Music Teachers' Association of New South Wales (MMTA). She is also a qualified Accountant (CPA).
Jocelyn has extensive teaching experience in Piano and Music Theory to students of all ages for exams and leisure. She enjoys playing classical music, pop songs, jazz and movie theme arrangements. She has performed as a piano soloist and is a piano accompanist at school concerts and instrumental exams.
Jocelyn structures her lessons to suit individuals’ needs. She is keen to motivate and encourage students to develop confidence when performing and to develop a love and learning of music.

ALEX
PIANO TEACHER

Alex has recently just completed a Bachelor of Music Performance majoring in Piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and enjoys exploring a wide range of music in both contemporary and classical fields. In addition to his Classical piano studies Alex has also developed skills in jazz and classical voice and also regularly works professionally as a musician. Alex enjoys teaching and loves passing on his passion for music to students.

MARIA
PIANO TEACHER

Maria trained in Germany, completing a Master of Music from University of Heidelberg and Bachelor of Music (Hons) from University of Munich. She has since pursued a successful piano teaching career; teaching piano and musicianship to students of all ages, from primary school to tertiary level. Maria has performed as a soloist and accompanist in Australia and Germany in many public and music club appearances, including invitation recitals, charity recitals, as an official accompanist and on a sponsored solo tour (Samsung). She has recorded with ABC-FM Radio and 2MBS-FM.

SIEBE
BASS GUITAR, DOUBLE BASS, CELLO & PIANO TEACHER

Siebe attained his CMUS (Certificate of Performance) in piano in 2010 and graduated from the Sydney Conservatory of Music in 2014. During these years, he studied under notable Australian pianists Gerard Willems and Kevin Hunt. Siebe has taught students of all levels and ages for over a decade specialising in classical and contemporary styles.
He is also an accomplished electric bass player and composer completing his master’s in jazz at Liceu Conservatorì Barcelona in 2022 and has recorded three albums of original music.
Siebe is very excited to share his passion for music with his students.

EUMI
PIANO TEACHER

Eumi completed both a Bachelor and Masters degree in Korea, majoring in classical piano. During her graduate studies, she also participated in a summer school program in London. With over 30 years of piano education experience, she emphasises both the technical and theoretical aspects of piano playing, successfully teaching students of all levels.
Eumi has extensive experience as an accompanist, including Suzuki violin recitals and various instrumental AMEB exams. She is actively involved in music ministry at Sacred Heart Parish in Pymble, where she plays the organ and keyboard.

MELIKA
PIANO AND GROUP TEACHER

Melika is currently studying a Bachelor of Music degree at Australian Institute of Music and has recently graduated from the Tehran Music Conservatorium where she completed her high school studies. She has participated in various international masterclasses and performances.
Melika has been teaching music to all ages and is very excited to share her passion of music
with her students.

GRACE
PIANO AND GROUP TEACHER

Grace is a fun-loving teacher equipped with a bright, warm personality and a Piano Associate (AMusA) diploma. Having experienced many hardships and many more magical moments in a decade of learning the piano, Grace holds a special place for music in her heart. She provides enthusiastic and patient guidance for the little ones at the very beginning of their musical journeys.

KERINA
VIOLIN, PIANO & GROUP TEACHER

Kerina is deeply passionate about sharing the beauty of music with her students. She has achieved the prestigious Cmus certification for violin and mastered Grade 8 piano, highlighting her dedication and expertise. What truly drives her is her profound experience working with children on the spectrum. Kerina is committed to creating inclusive and supportive environments where every student can thrive and discover their musical potential.

Her journey is marked by an unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a lifelong love of music in every student she teaches. Kerina's approach is not just about teaching music but about building a supportive community where each student feels valued and inspired to grow.

ROSIE
PIANO & GROUP CLASS TEACHER

Rosie is completing her studies at the Conservatorium majoring in piano and percussion. An ex-ISM student, Rosie has continued to pursue piano as a soloist and ensemble player. She is involved in orchestras and wind bands and won many competitions across the state.
Rosie has been passionate about teaching music since a very young age – inspired by her previous ISM teachers. She hopes to spread that passion and inspire children of all ages to flourish in their musical journeys.

JOY
PIANO AND GROUP TEACHER

Joy has completed her bachelors and masters degrees in classical piano performance and music education.
She has been heavily involved in various ensemble groups within the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music and has toured Australia, therefore giving her a multitude of performance experience!
Joy has been teaching piano for over 10 years in both classroom and private capacities! Joy loves working will people of all ages, and would say that music and people are her two greatest passions.

GERARD
DRUM, PERCUSSION AND SINGING TEACHER

Gerard likes to engage with all things percussion. From drum kit to xylophone and everything in between such as Drum Corps group drumming including being appointed Drum Major at Red Bend Catholic College in Forbes for their Drum Corps.
He places all major genres as equals as well in areas from Rock, Funk, Metal & Jazz.
His previous students have enjoyed a very high rate of great success in assessments & eisteddfods as well as in CPM & AMEB examinations.
Gerard himself has completed major studies in Music Composition (in Tuned/untuned percussion, voice & synthesiser) at the Australian Institute of Music, where he is completing a combined degree in Composition & Sound Production. – In performance, he has played in various Rock, Jazz & Orchestral ensembles across NSW.
His teaching philosophy is one of placing a good amount of emphasis on getting the essentials right before advancing; but always practicing a varied set of teaching methods that are designed to get the best possible result within a reasonable time-frame, and, his student’s achievements have provided evidence of this.

MAX
PIANO TEACHER

Max is a multi-instrumental music educator specialising in piano, saxophone, and trombone. Beginning his musical journey at age 5, he holds both Associate and Licentiate degrees in piano performance. His comprehensive teaching approach spans classical and modern techniques, with expertise in sight-reading, chord theory, and instrumental techniques.
Max creates an engaging learning environment where students develop strong musical foundations. His experience makes him an excellent choice for both beginners exploring their musical interests and advanced students pursuing performance goals.

MONICA
GUITAR AND SINGING TEACHER

Monica's passion for music shines through every time she steps on stage, and now she’s eager to share that passion with others. As a singer-songwriter with 12 songs on Spotify, a degree in Music specialising in Songwriting from JMC Academy, 10 years of vocal training, and 5 years of guitar playing, she brings a wealth of experience and creativity to her teaching.
Monica's extensive experience performing across Sydney—from markets and festivals to pubs and clubs—has given her valuable insights into live performance, musicianship, and songwriting. Music has been her emotional outlet as a neurodivergent artist, and she believes in its unique ability to connect people.
Monica is excited to help others find their voice, explore their creativity, and experience the joy of music for themselves.

CHRIS
PIANO, GUITAR, BASS GUITAR, VOCAL AND DRUM TEACHER

ERIC
VIOLIN AND GUITAR TEACHER

Eric is currently in his final year of studying Jazz Performance (majoring in Guitar) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has already completed his Associate in Music (violin) diploma and brings that dual-instrument background into lessons.
​
He enjoys working with students of all levels – from those just starting out to those preparing for exams or performance goals. He’s patient, understanding and aims to create an atmosphere where learning and fun go hand in hand. His goal is to help each student not only become a better musician, but also enjoy every step along the way.

FELIX
CLARINET & SAXOPHONE TEACHER

Felix is a passionate clarinet and saxophone player who’s currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
He loves working with young musicians and helping them grow both technically and creatively. He teaches band repertoire, classical music, and jazz, and adapts his approach to suit each student’s interests and skill level.

Felix holds his AMusA on saxophone and is Grade 7 on clarinet. He aims to build confidence, strong fundamentals, and a genuine enjoyment of playing that stays with students long after their school years.

MASON
VOCAL AND GUITAR TEACHER
​
Mason is a guitar and vocal teacher with 15 years of performance experience in all different genres, both as a solo performer, and part of various ensembles ranging from large jazz ensembles, rock bands, and choirs both large and small, including performances at Town Hall, various festivals, and other large venues. He also has a Bachelor of Music (Composition & Production) from the Australian Institute of Music.
Specialising in contemporary music, Mason creates a learning environment based around enjoyment that makes students want to progress and practice their craft by choosing songs to learn based on progressively more challenging techniques used in contemporary songs.
Having first picked up a guitar at age 5, Mason understands what it takes for students of all ages to be engaged in learning an instrument, enjoying the process of learning, and being pleased, proud, and satisfied with their results.

LETITIA
GROUP TEACHER

Letitia has a genuine love of music and enjoys sharing that passion through piano teaching. She began learning piano at the age of five and developed a strong dedication to music throughout high school, where she actively participated in music ensembles and choir. She completed her AMEB Grade 8 Piano at the end of high school, strengthening both her technical skills and musical understanding.

She brings a friendly, patient, and encouraging approach to her lessons, helping students feel comfortable and supported as they learn. Letitia creates a positive learning environment where students can build confidence, develop strong musical foundations, and, most importantly, enjoy making music.

NICK
PIANO TEACHER

Nick Twiney is a jazz/soul/rock pianist that has been playing piano/keyboards for the past 20 years starting at the age of 12.
He studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston receiving a bachelor in Jazz Composition. Since his return to Australia he has been doing session work and playing for various cover/original groups in Sydney.
He has also been teaching piano for the past 10 years to students of all ages. If you are interested in learning improvisation, composition, ear training and having a teacher that will tailor the lessons to your interests, Nick will be a great fit for you.

JANICE
PIANO TEACHER

Janice started her piano journey at age five and it quickly became a lifelong passion. She holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education plus an ABRSM Diploma in Piano Performance, giving her strong musical and teaching foundations.

Janice has taught piano to students of all ages, from kindergarten through to adults. She cares about building confidence, making lessons fun, and helping every student enjoy music for the long haul. Her approach blends structure with encouragement so students feel supported and excited about what they can achieve at the piano.

BEN
PIANO, VOCAL & GUITAR TEACHER

Ben is a passionate musician with a strong background in jazz guitar and contemporary music. He has performed as a solo artist and with several bands, and teaches both piano and guitar.
Ben brings great energy and enthusiasm to his lessons and loves helping students build confidence, develop strong foundations, and enjoy making music.

CAITLIN
PIANO, CLARINET, VOCAL & GROUP TEACHER

Caitlin is an experienced and versatile music educator who has been teaching Piano, Voice, Clarinet, Music Theory and early childhood group music since 2017. Her own musical journey began at just four years old in the ISM Junior Group Piano program, where she first discovered a love of music and the joy of learning alongside others.
​
Caitlin rejoined the ISM community in 2021 and now teaches students across a wide range of ages and levels, from Jitterbugs through to Extension classes and beyond. She is passionate about helping children develop confidence, strong musical foundations and a genuine enjoyment of learning in a supportive, encouraging environment.
​
Alongside her group teaching, Caitlin works with students across Classical, Musical Theatre, Contemporary and Popular styles, adapting her approach to suit each learner’s interests and goals.
​
Outside the classroom, Caitlin performs regularly with Sydney Philharmonia’s VOX choir and appears with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and other professional ensembles. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Sydney.

RHYS
GUITAR & BASS GUITAR TEACHER

Rhys prides himself on his love for teaching and sharing his joy of music with others. Currently finalising his Bachelor of Music & Sound Design at UTS, with plans to pursue a Master's in Education, Rhys has been teaching since graduating high school and his passion only continues to grow.
​
With over 10 years of guitar playing experience, Rhys enjoys teaching a wide range of styles and loves watching his students learn to play the music they love. He is also an active songwriter and producer, having written his first songs back in primary school. Always seeking to expand his musical toolkit, Rhys has picked up skills in bass guitar, piano and drums along the way.

ZOE
VIOLIN TEACHER

Zoe is an accomplished violinist with extensive experience performing in some of Australia's leading youth ensembles, including the Sydney Youth Orchestra, the Australian Youth Orchestra, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra Academy, where she served as Concertmaster. She holds a Distinction in the LMusA and received advanced performance training through the Rising Stars program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Zoe works with students of all ages, offering supportive and personalised lessons that build strong technique, musical expression, and confidence. She is passionate about inspiring young musicians and sharing her love of music and the violin with every student she teaches.

JOSH
VIOLIN TEACHER
​
Joshua is currently studying his Bachelor of Music Performance majoring in violin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He began learning the violin at the age of 7 from Naira Yusofova, with whom he studied until the age of 15. Soon after starting on the violin, he joined the Northern Sydney Youth Orchestra String Ensemble, becoming concertmaster in years 5/6. He then joined the Symphony orchestra, where he also served as concertmaster in 2025 and Assistant Concertmaster in 2023/2024.
Whilst studying with Naira, he received a full music scholarship to the Hills Grammar School, where he completed his High School Studies in 2025. After 8 years with Naira, he began learning with Dr. Evgeny Sorkin (Lecturer in Violin at Sydney Con). Since learning with Dr. Sorkin, Joshua successfully completed both his AmusA and LmusA diploma exams, as well as joining the Australian Youth Orchestra, with whom he performs frequently across Australia.
In 2025, Josh received the Ted and Sussan Meller Memorial Fund from the University of Sydney. Joshua has approximately 1.5 years of teaching experience, as well as experience tutoring the NSYO string ensemble, and can teach beginner through to advanced students. In the future, he hopes to pursue further study overseas, as well as a hybrid career both performing and teaching, with a particular focus on orchestral and/or chamber music.

PAISLEY
VIOLIN TEACHER

Paisley is a highly experienced violinist and teacher who began studying the violin at the age of three. She has been teaching violin for over 6 years, working with students across a range of ages, levels, and needs. She graduated from Ravenswood School for Girls as a Music Scholar and the Performing Arts Prefect, with a strong foundation in performance and musical leadership.
​
As an accomplished performer, she has participated in programs with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Chamber Orchestra Academy, the Australian Youth Orchestra, and has appeared as a touring soloist with the Ballet International Gala. Paisley holds both AMusA and LMusA diplomas in violin and is committed to cultivating passion, musicality, and confidence in her students.

LACHLAN
PIANO TEACHER

Lachlan is currently close to completing a Bachelor of Contemporary Music at Southern Cross University, where he studied in Lismore and the Gold Coast and majored in Songwriting and Composition. Having started piano at the age of 9, he has completed AMEB Grade 8 in Piano for Leisure, which he did during his HSC. With previous experiences working in education as a School Learning Support Officer for primary schools, Lachlan is eager and able to pass on his love of music to his students.
